About Ribble Valley Pages

Some things start with a spreadsheet and a business plan. This one started with a skip on the drive, a YouTube rabbit hole about log burners, and a desperate WhatsApp to every person we knew asking if they could recommend a decent roofer.

We’re on our second renovation in the Ribble Valley — and if the first one taught us anything, it’s that finding the right people makes all the difference. Not just any tradesperson. The right one. Someone who turns up when they say they will, does what they said they’d do, and leaves the place cleaner than they found it.

The second time round, we knew more. We had our list of trusted trades built up over years of living, renovating and asking around. We had opinions on everything from insulation to interiors. And we kept thinking — why isn’t there somewhere that pulls all of this together for the Ribble Valley?

So we built it.

Ribble Valley Pages is a trade directory and home inspiration hub for people who live here, love it here and want to make the most of their home here. Whether you’ve just moved in, you’re mid-renovation, or you’re finally getting round to that kitchen you’ve been planning for three years — this is where you’ll find the people and the ideas to make it happen.

The directory is curated, not just populated. Every business that applies to list with us is reviewed before they go live. We’re not a national platform that lets anyone pay and appear. We’re a local resource that takes recommendations seriously — because in a place like the Ribble Valley, reputation is everything.

A bit about the person behind it

I’m Jess. I live in Clitheroe, I’m currently renovating a 3-bed semi (send help and structural engineers), and I’ve spent the last few years doing what I love most: building things.

Before Ribble Valley Pages I built and sold two businesses in completely different worlds: one in ecommerce, one in food. Both taught me that the best businesses are built on genuine knowledge, real relationships and an obsession with doing things properly. This one is no different.

I hold a Level 1 in Construction and I’m a qualified Retrofit Assessor, which means I can have a proper conversation with a builder without nodding blankly and hoping for the best. I have an unhealthy interest in homes, interiors and the craft of renovation, a growing wish list of trades I want to learn (kitchen fitting is next on the list), and a deep appreciation for the people who do this work brilliantly.

What you’ll find on Ribble Valley Pages

A searchable directory of trusted local trades and businesses from electricians and plasterers to landscapers, interiors shops, garden room suppliers and everyone in between.

Editorial content that’s actually useful – honest guides, interiors features, home inspiration and guest bloggers from the trades that reflects real homes rather than show homes.

Something for the Weekend our free newsletter with home tips, trade recommendations, a peek at our renovation, local food finds and the best of what’s happening in the valley. Sign up below.

We believe the Ribble Valley deserves a proper local resource. Not a generic directory. Not a national platform that doesn’t know its Clitheroe from its Longridge. Something built here, for here, by someone who actually lives it.

Welcome. Have a look around. And if you know a brilliant local trade we should know about…..tell us.
